We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join our team at The Trustee for Takhtar Saggu Unit Trust t/a Saleem Indian Restaurant. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for creating delicious and authentic Indian dishes that exceed our customers' expectations.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop new menu items and plan menus considering preparation costs, including labor costs.
- Oversee the quality of dishes throughout preparation and presentation.
- Collaborate with managers, kitchen staff, and waiting staff on food preparation issues.
- Demonstrate techniques and provide advice on cooking procedures.
- Conduct inventory checks in the kitchen and place supply orders as needed.
- Prepare and cook food to the highest standards.
- Develop and maintain the presentation of dishes.
- Ensure compliance with hygiene regulations.
- Train kitchen staff on different cooking techniques and methods.
- Ensure that all food produced by the restaurant meets approved standards, is produced from the menu using standardized recipes, and complies with regulatory requirements, including food safety requirements.
- Freeze and preserve foods as required.
- Certificate III/IV in cookery or equivalent.
- Full-time, permanent position.
- 2-3 years of relevant work experience required for this role.
- Working rights required for this role.
- Expected salary: $70,000 - $80,000 per year.
