Job Title: Chef

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join our team at The Trustee for Takhtar Saggu Unit Trust t/a Saleem Indian Restaurant. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for creating delicious and authentic Indian dishes that exceed our customers' expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop new menu items and plan menus considering preparation costs, including labor costs.
  • Oversee the quality of dishes throughout preparation and presentation.
  • Collaborate with managers, kitchen staff, and waiting staff on food preparation issues.
  • Demonstrate techniques and provide advice on cooking procedures.
  • Conduct inventory checks in the kitchen and place supply orders as needed.
  • Prepare and cook food to the highest standards.
  • Develop and maintain the presentation of dishes.
  • Ensure compliance with hygiene regulations.
  • Train kitchen staff on different cooking techniques and methods.
  • Ensure that all food produced by the restaurant meets approved standards, is produced from the menu using standardized recipes, and complies with regulatory requirements, including food safety requirements.
  • Freeze and preserve foods as required.
Requirements:
  • Certificate III/IV in cookery or equivalent.
  • Full-time, permanent position.
  • 2-3 years of relevant work experience required for this role.
  • Working rights required for this role.
  • Expected salary: $70,000 - $80,000 per year.
