Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Scientist to join our team in the field of neurodegenerative diseases. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing experimental, technical and administrative support on a range of research activities including assay development, in vitro drug screening, cell culture and microscopy analysis.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in molecular biology, biochemistry or a related field, with experience in laboratory techniques such as cell culture, high throughput assay screening, immunocytochemistry, protein extraction and Western blotting.

The Research Scientist will work closely with our team of researchers to design and execute experiments, analyze data and draw conclusions. They will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records, reporting results and contributing to the preparation of research papers and presentations.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with honours or masters equivalent (or higher) in medical science, neuroscience, biochemistry or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of lab administration and experimental planning.
  • Experience with laboratory techniques such as cell culture, high throughput assay screening, immunocytochemistry, protein extraction and Western blotting.
  • Excellent organisational skills with a demonstrated capacity to meet tight deadlines and manage time effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and organisational skills to assist in the preparation of research data.
