About This Opportunity

Estimating Manager needed to drive growth in Perth Mining & Minerals group. Meet the demand for critical metals projects.

This full-time permanent position reports to the Technical Director - Studies, Mining and Minerals, based in Perth, compiling Definitive Feasibility, Pre-Feasibility, and Scoping Studies cost estimates.

Deliver engineering solutions for a net-zero future, worldwide, including Copper, Lithium, Vanadium, Rare Earths, and Base Metals.

The successful candidate will work on battery and magnet metals driving global decarbonization.

Job Description:

Key responsibilities include leading a small team of Estimators, estimating project quantities and costs in feasibility studies from scoping to definitive level, sourcing appropriate data, consulting with clients and vendors, analyzing historical data, computing cost factors, coordinating estimates, understanding client requirements, and preparing study report documentation.

  • Lead and manage a small team of Estimators
  • Estimate project quantities and costs in feasibility studies
  • Sources appropriate data for material and labour requirements
  • Consult with clients, vendors or individuals to discuss and formulate estimates
  • Analyze and maintain historical data to establish standard hours
  • Compute cost factors for inclusion in estimates and determine cost-effectiveness
  • Coodinate and consolidate estimates from partners or third parties
  • Understand client requirements and develop delivery strategies
  • Prepare study report documentation
Required Skills and Qualifications:

You will have experience in mining in an EPCM environment, fully conversant in MS Excel, Word, and Access, sufficient construction multidisciplinary estimating knowledge and experience in the minerals/mining resources industry, specialized skills and knowledge base for conceptual and preliminary study phase estimates, excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
