Senior Quality Assurance Specialist Role

The primary responsibility of the Senior Quality Assurance Specialist is to ensure that our software solutions meet the highest quality standards. This role plays a pivotal part in planning and delivering high-quality testing efforts, contributing significantly to our success and customer satisfaction.

We are looking for an experienced professional with strong knowledge of software testing lifecycle, Agile, Waterfall, and mixed methodologies. Proficiency in testing management tools such as Enterprise Test, Team Foundation Server, HPQC, Selenium, SOAPUI, Jenkins, Gherkin, and JIRA is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise test analysts and manage workloads to complete testing deliverables for BAU assignments and projects.
  • Provide strategic direction for the test team, undertake test planning, scope the testing strategy required, estimate the effort and duration of testing, and determine resource and environment requirements.
  • Ensure that test deliverables are produced on time, created according to quality standards defined both internally and by the client, and are written to be re-usable and auditable.
  • Undertake hands-on-testing as required.
  • Responsible for end-to-end test delivery phases from planning and control through to testing analysis and design, test implementation, execution, and tools.
  • Guide and mentor other team members.
  • Be a positive influential force for technical best practice within the team.
  • Accurately record timesheets and charge services time.
  • Tailor solutions to meet customers' needs.
  • Abide by compliance policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of commercial software testing experience.
  • Strong knowledge of software testing lifecycle with Agile, Waterfall, and mixed methodologies.
  • Proficiency in testing management tools including Enterprise Test, Team Foundation Server, HPQC, Selenium, SOAPUI, Jenkins, Gherkin, and JIRA.
  • Good working knowledge of relevant technologies and concepts, including object-oriented design, enterprise database, AWS, Java or .Net experience, GIT, Web Services, CRM, and utilities industry.
  • Positive attitude, common sense, and a sense of humor.

  • High levels of energy, sound judgment, and determination with a sense of urgency.
  • Attention to detail, relationship management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Open-minded consultative approach, ability to give and receive positive and constructive feedback.
  • Ability to creatively solve problems.
  • Relevant tertiary education, ISTQB foundation certification, and 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Specialized skills in billing systems, CRM knowledge, programming/software development, test automation, and process improvement.
