About This Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Head Coach to lead our competitive squad program. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing effective training programs that drive athlete success.

You will work closely with our swimming committee to foster relationships with stakeholders, plan and coordinate the squad program, and evaluate its effectiveness in meeting business objectives. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in the professional development of junior coaches and ensure meet attendance and season calendar compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement competitive squad training programs that cater to diverse athlete needs.
  • Facilitate athlete pathways through regional, state, and national competitions, providing guidance and support throughout their journey.
  • Collaborate with our swimming committee to build strong relationships with community sporting bodies, parents, and other stakeholders, promoting a culture of inclusivity and excellence.
  • Plan, coordinate, and evaluate the squad program to ensure it aligns with business objectives and meets the needs of our athletes.
  • Develop and implement strategies for the professional growth and development of junior coaches, empowering them to reach their full potential.
  • Ensure compliance with meet attendance and season calendar requirements, maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail.

What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience in a competitive squad environment, demonstrating your ability to design and implement effective training programs.
  • A willingness to grow and develop as a coach, embracing new challenges and opportunities for improvement.
  • Experience coaching National Age & open qualifiers, showcasing your expertise in this area.
  • Good standing with Swimming NSW/Swimming Australia, ensuring you meet the necessary regulatory requirements.
  • A current ASCTA Silver Licence / Advanced Licence or equivalent, reflecting your commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • A Working with Children's Check and First Aid and CPR certification, prioritizing the safety and well-being of our athletes.
  • Full availability and flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, and weekends, as required.
  • The ability to maintain high standards under pressure, remaining composed and focused in fast-paced environments.
