As a Principal Software Engineer at Rokt, you will play a key role in shaping our technology direction. In this role, you will take ownership of key components within our product, focusing on delivering features while championing technical excellence across our engineering organisation.

This role requires a strong individual contributor with a passion for shaping the future of technology. You will be responsible for solving complex technical problems, identifying and proposing improvements to our system architecture, and collaborating with our global Product & Engineering leadership team.

In this role, you will also have the opportunity to mentor and grow your colleagues, provide advice to other domain experts, and contribute to the development of our best-in-class ecommerce technology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Solve complex technical problems as an individual contributor and hands-on software engineer

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 10+ years of experience in commercial software development designing, building, and operating distributed systems
  • Expert-level software engineering skills in a complex environment
  • Deep knowledge and experience working with multi-petabyte-scale distributed systems using Spark and other open-source data technologies at scale
  • Extensive experience working on some of the most complex and large-scale systems in the market
  • Strong system architecture design experience and understanding; space/time complexity, API contract design and stewardship, cloud-based infrastructure (AWS/GCP)

Compensation:

The estimated salary for this role is $270,000-$300,000 including superannuation, plus employee equity plan grant & world class benefits.
