We are seeking highly skilled Developers to join our team in a groundbreaking AI developer enablement initiative for the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).

This opportunity involves supporting the integration and configuration of GitHub Copilot Enterprise within the ATO's developer toolchain.

  • Developing, testing, and optimizing workflows in GitHub Enterprise, Azure DevOps, and related Integrated Development Environments (IDEs)

The successful candidate will contribute directly to the design, configuration, integration, and testing of GitHub Copilot within the ATO's secure developer environment.

You will work closely with DevOps, Security, and Architecture teams to ensure seamless technical delivery and maintain compliance and performance standards.

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • 3–6 years' experience as a Software Developer in enterprise or government settings
  • Strong hands-on experience with modern IDEs and developer workflows
  • Familiarity with GitHub Enterprise, Azure DevOps, and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
  • Understanding of secure coding practices and ISM requirements
  • Proven ability to work in Agile teams and contribute to iterative delivery
  • Exposure to or use of GitHub Copilot or similar AI-assisted development tools
  • Experience writing testable, secure, and reusable code
  • Familiarity with scripting and automation, such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python
  • Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) in DevSecOps environments
