Job Overview

As a Senior Staff Engineer, you will be responsible for driving forward progress across multiple organizations and enabling Stripe's infrastructure to power all of its products globally at scale.

  • Define and own the technical roadmaps for large cross-cutting efforts that span the Core Infrastructure with Stripe-wide impact
  • Own and drive cross-functional partnerships with organizations spanning Infrastructure, Service Platform, Developer Experience, Data Platform, Product Engineering, Finance, Risk, Operations, and GTM teams
  • Establish project ownership and contribute to prioritization and execution with the appropriate amount of urgency
  • Present clear thoughtful and opinionated analysis to senior leaders enabling them to make tough and impactful decisions with clear tradeoffs
  • Have excellent judgment and operate with minimal oversight
  • Make impactful hands-on contributions throughout the project lifecycle from scoping to design coding and operations
  • Mentor and sponsor experienced managers and/or very experienced engineers assist with team growth and development and set the culture bar for excellence and technical curiosity
