Financial Role Overview

This role involves providing financial expertise and support to the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of tax returns, BAS/GST, and other compliance requirements.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment reconciliation, and debtor management.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the general ledger, ensuring transactions are properly categorized and reconciled.
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting process by providing financial data and analysis to facilitate decision-making.
  • Assist in the coordination of external audits and ensure compliance with audit requirements.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Continuously review accounting processes and procedures, identifying areas for improvement and implementing efficiencies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience working as an Assistant Accountant within the Australian market.
  • Thorough understanding of Australian accounting principles and tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MYOB, Xero, QuickBooks) and MS Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
