The Australian Public Service (APS) is a leading provider of language training to the Defence Force. Our team at the Defence Force School of Languages (DFSL) is dedicated to delivering high-quality language education to our students.

**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled French Language Teacher to join our team as an APS 6 French Language Teacher. As a leader in the French team, you will be responsible for setting work priorities and managing workflows. You will also work productively with other language teachers to deliver language courses to ADF personnel.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Develop and implement French language assessment materials that meet the needs of our students.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide timely, actionable feedback to support their learning.
  • Review and improve course materials and assessments to ensure they remain effective and relevant.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to the Head of Wing on language-related matters.
  • Plan and deliver In-Country Training programs for students, including travel to France for assessment purposes.
  • Organise cultural engagement activities for students, both domestically and internationally.
  • Identify and research new teaching methodologies and technologies to enhance student learning outcomes.

**Requirements**

  • Demonstrated expertise in the French language, with a proven track record of successful teaching experience.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team of language teachers.
  • Sound knowledge of different approaches to language teaching, with the ability to adapt to changing educational needs.
  • French teaching experience in an adult learning environment is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in syllabus design and material development, with a focus on language teaching methodologies.
  • Excellent computer literacy, particularly in word-processing software.
  • English language proficiency at the academic level.

**What We Offer**

We offer a competitive salary range of $91,702 - $104,753 + up to 15.4% Superannuation. Located in Laverton, Victoria, our school provides a diverse and inclusive work environment, with opportunities for professional growth and development.
