Make a Difference in Aged Care

As a compassionate volunteer, you have the opportunity to bring joy to the lives of seniors in residential care. By spending time with residents at a Nowra aged care facility, accompanied by your well-behaved pet, you can make a significant difference in their lives.

Our furry friends can alleviate feelings of loneliness and isolation, providing comfort and companionship to those who need it most. To ensure the safety and well-being of both residents and pets, we require that pets be calm and gentle in nature, up-to-date on vaccinations and treatments for worms and fleas, and have short and blunt nails.

  1. Ensure your pet is comfortable in new environments and does not get anxious or stressed.
  2. Plan visits during quieter times of the day, such as weekdays between 9am and 4pm.

We welcome pets of all sizes and breeds, but please note that this role suits those who are comfortable sitting and engaging in conversation at a resident's pace.

As a volunteer, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients. We appreciate your dedication to making a positive impact and value the unique perspective and skills you bring to our team.

This opportunity aligns with The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme, funded by the Australian Government, which aims to foster connections between elderly individuals and local community volunteers.
