Job Summary:

The purpose of this role is to enhance Council's position with the community and stakeholders through public affairs activities.

This includes developing and implementing strategies, managing traditional and social media content, and engaging with the community to build relationships and trust.

To succeed in this role, you will have tertiary qualifications in journalism, communications, public relations or a similar field, along with experience in a similar role.

Key skills include demonstrated communications capability, good knowledge of public affairs, media communications and stakeholder engagement disciplines, and strong working knowledge of social media and digital platforms.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive, strategic communicator with a keen interest in public affairs, media relations, and community engagement.

  • Tertiary qualifications in journalism, communications, public relations or a similar field
  • Demonstrated communications capability and ability to translate complex information into publicly accessible content
  • Good knowledge of public affairs, media communications and stakeholder engagement disciplines
  • Strong working knowledge of social media and digital platforms
