Multidisciplinary Biomedical Research Scientist

**Research Opportunity**: We are seeking a talented scientist to join our multidisciplinary biomedical research institute as a Nick Hoogenraad Fellow. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to conduct internationally competitive, molecular research and explore opportunities for collaboration with researchers across the university and externally.
About the PositionThe La Trobe Institute for Molecular Science (LIMS) is a world-class research institute that seeks equitable solutions to solve today's global health and wellbeing challenges. Our team of leading researchers from across the University conducts impactful research through the creative integration of core scientific disciplines.
The LIMS Nick Hoogenraad Fellowship is named in recognition of Emeritus Professor Nick Hoogenraad AO, who served as the inaugural LIMS Director until his retirement. This fellowship aims to support high-achieving scientists within 8 years of award of their PhD to establish their own laboratory and research directions in their chosen field.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct independent and/or team research within the relevant field
- Develop research expertise relevant to the field of research
- Explore opportunities for collaboration with researchers across the university and externally
To be considered for this position, you will need to have:
- Completion of a PhD within the previous eight years considering ROPE or equivalent qualifications and research experience
- Evidence of good research practice
- A record of peer-reviewed publications or professional contributions
- A demonstrated track record in equity-centred research and public involvement (preferably)
The successful candidate will receive salary and a contribution towards research support for three years full-time, or an equivalent part-time period. They will also have the opportunity to develop their research skills and expertise, as well as access to resources and facilities at the La Trobe University.
