Job Title: Mechanical Fitter

 

A highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Fitter is required to join our team on a major project in Australia. The role involves various tasks including fault finding, stock management, and equipment maintenance.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough fault finding for breakdowns
  • Maintain an adequate stock of materials such as hydraulic, mechanic, electronic, and pneumatic items
  • Assemble metal parts and subassemblies to fabricate production machines and other equipment
  • Perform regular mechanical checklists and weekly inspections of plant and machinery
  • Carry out marking and lining out tasks
  • Prevent accidents by conducting pre-start checks on plant and equipment, hand tools, tooling, and equipment prior to use
  • Maintain tools and equipment in a safe area, locking them away or returning to store when not required
  • Ensure quality control systems are followed at all times
  • Perform other general duties as required by the project manager

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Australian recognised Trade Certificate in Mechanical Fitting
  • Current Working Safely at Heights Certificate
  • Current High Risk Elevating Work Platform License and VOC
  • Current Driver's Licence
  • Nationally recognised Construction Safety Awareness Card (White Card)
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical examination and drug & alcohol screen
