Position Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Operations Specialist to join our team at Smeaton Grange.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the correct setup and operation of equipment, overseeing the production process with safety and quality as their top priority.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Setting up the machine according to the production plan.
  • Safely operating the processing line and equipment.
  • Identifying and reporting hazards, near misses, and incidents.
  • Clearing jams, fixing manufacturing defects, and problem-solving machine breakdowns.
  • Confirming incoming materials meet specifications.
  • Verifying finished products are manufactured within specifications.
  • Recording batch information.
  • Cleaning the site and equipment.
  • Performing additional duties such as debagging, filling, processing, case packer dispatch, and others.
Requirements:
  • FMCG experience is essential.
  • Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment, with Dairy experience highly regarded.
  • Operation of filling machines and related equipment.
  • Strong people skills for interacting with customers, suppliers, and the wider team.
  • Excellent reading and writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Forklift license is desirable but not essential.
