Chair of Human Research Ethics Committee

The University of Western Australia seeks an exceptional individual to provide leadership and guidance on human research ethics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and impartial guidance on Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research and National Statement.
  • Chair HREC meetings to ensure all members' views are received and considered.
  • Review proposed research projects for ethical implications.
  • Ensure compliance with approved ethical standards and guidelines.
  • Consult with internal and external stakeholders.
Essential Qualifications
  • Continuing academic role or fixed-term academic position covering the term of appointment.
  • Strong research track record and experience in research design and conduct.
  • Previous experience on a Human Research Ethics Committee.
Work Environment

Meetings will be held fortnightly at 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the Crawley campus. The Chair will work collaboratively with the Associate Director of the Office of Research Ethics and Integrity and report to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research).
