Culinary Specialist Opportunity

At Springbank Rise by Busy Bees, we're dedicated to creating a nurturing environment where children thrive. Our centre offers a unique chance for an experienced culinary professional to join our kitchen team and provide healthy meals for our children.

We're seeking a part-time culinary specialist to work 34 hours per week across Monday to Friday. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a childcare setting and be certified in commercial cookery or equivalent.

As our Centre Culinary Specialist, you will:

  • Plan, prepare, and serve fresh meals and snacks for children aged 0–5
  • Develop rotating menus that meet dietary, allergy, and cultural needs
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and compliant kitchen environment at all times
  • Manage inventory, food ordering, and kitchen documentation
  • Work closely with the Centre Director and Educators to support overall wellbeing

The successful applicant will require:

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
  • Experience working in a childcare environment (mandatory)
  • ACT Working with Vulnerable People Registration (WWVP)
  • Valid Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
  • First Aid and CPR certification (preferred)
  • Understanding of HACCP and food safety regulations
  • Strong time management, planning, and communication skills
