This scholarship opportunity is part of a prestigious PhD research project at Monash University, focused on understanding sleep disturbance in clients seeking treatment for alcohol use disorder.
The successful candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary cohort of researchers and students based at Turning Point, Australia's leading national addiction treatment, training and research centre, based in Melbourne. The principal supervisors will be Professor Dan Lubman AM, Professor Victoria Manning, Associate Professor Shalini Arunogiri and Dr Rowan Ogeil.
The PhD project will involve collection and analysis of both subjective and objective measures of sleep with outcomes helping to delineate the role and impact that comorbid sleep disturbances have on the course and progression of recovery from AUD. This research has the potential to contribute significantly to the field of addiction studies and improve treatment outcomes for individuals struggling with AUD.
To be eligible, candidates must meet Monash University's minimum requirements for admission to a PhD. We are seeking highly motivated and talented individuals who are passionate about researching sleep disturbance and its impact on AUD treatment.

The estimated annual salary for this position is $70,000AUD, commensurate with experience. Please note that COVID-19 vaccination is recommended for all persons attending a Monash University location.
