About the Role

This is a permanent position working directly for Rio Tinto, offering a competitive base salary, annual incentive bonus, and comprehensive benefits package.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the safe delivery and execution of key accountabilities across the site training team
  • Work closely with Operational Supervisors and CD Learning Specialist to develop, forecast, and execute the monthly forecast and weekly site training plan
  • Lead the development of technical streams and coordination of equipment, logistics, and trainers
  • Assist leaders to support overall productivity and regulatory compliance
  • Forecast training requirements for operational teams and create training plans to deliver
  • Create a positive and engaged experience for new employees as we welcome them into the Rio family
Requirements
  • People engagement and leadership skills, ability to communicate and consult effectively at all levels
  • Excellent communication skills to influence, engage, and build strong rapport with key stakeholders
  • A passion and curiosity to build knowledge of stakeholders and the work they do
  • Effective time management skills, the ability to balance multiple and competing priorities, and demonstrated ability to support diverse groups to achieve desired outcomes
  • Proven problem-solving ability to implement solutions that drive desired outcomes
  • Scheduling and computer skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines
  • Experience in leading technical training and team management
  • Certificate IV Training and Assessment (seen as advantageous but not essential)
