Job Overview

The Department of Health, Tasmania seeks a skilled Clinical Health Specialist to join its team. As an Allied Health Professional, you will be part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality mental health services in accordance with the Mental Health Services Strategic Plan and National Mental Health Standards.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering quality care to clients based on best practice principles and within a collaborative framework.
  • Providing specialist assessment and treatment services to clients and their families or carers.
  • Promoting community awareness in relation to mental health and acting as a consultant to other agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the delivery of comprehensive clinical services through assessment, case management, and individual therapies.
  • Provide evidence-based assessment and treatment interventions for clients with complex mental health problems.
  • Function as an active member of a multi-disciplinary team, providing support and consultation as required.
  • Prepare specialised reports as needed.

Essential Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualification approved by the Occupational Board of Australia or Psychology Board of Australia.
  • Current Working with Children Registration.
