We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader to drive our growth and transition into a thriving and sustainable organization. As Interim CEO, you will provide strategic leadership, develop key partnerships, and secure funding to ensure our long-term success.

This is a unique opportunity to lead an organization from its early stages, shaping its future direction and impact. You will work closely with stakeholders, including government agencies, corporate partners, and community organizations, to promote our mission and secure support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning & Partnerships
    • Develop and implement strategic plans for sustainability and expansion.
    • Guide Gulaay's growth and ensure alignment with its mission and values.
    • Support the development of policies, procedures, and financial planning frameworks.
  • Funding & Business Development
    • Identify and pursue funding opportunities, including grants, sponsorships, and partnerships.
    • Explore social enterprise models to generate revenue and long-term sustainability.
  • Community Engagement & Outreach
    • Build strong relationships with the local Aboriginal community, government agencies, corporate partners, and community organizations.
    • Represent Gulaay at meetings, forums, and events to promote its mission and secure support.
  • Operational Support
    • Support recruitment and coordination of volunteers and future staff.

We're Seeking Someone Who:

  • Has leadership experience in social enterprises, Aboriginal organizations, not-for-profits, or community development.
  • Is passionate about Aboriginal economic empowerment and social change.
  • Has business acumen, particularly in fundraising, grant applications, or enterprise development.
  • Can effectively engage with stakeholders (government, business, community groups) to drive partnerships and funding.
  • Is adaptable and proactive, willing to build from the ground up.
  • Has strong communication, governance, and financial planning skills.

Experience in business development, grant writing, or managing start-up initiatives will be highly regarded.
