Job Title: Health and Safety Coordinator

Our organization is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team. This role will be responsible for ensuring the implementation and review of policies and procedures at our sites, conducting regular site visits to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the development and implementation of health and safety policies and procedures
  • Conduct regular site visits to conduct audits, inspections, and observations to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and company policies
  • Assist with health and safety improvement initiatives
  • Coordinate rehabilitation and return to work programs in conjunction with site Return to Work Coordinators and liaise with insurers on open claims and progress on premium renewals
  • Work with Site Management to deliver strategies to reduce workers' compensation claims
  • Provide support to sites in the risk management of hazards and implementing control measures
  • Provide support to sites on completing incident investigations and implementing corrective actions
  • Provide support to sites to implement an induction and training program utilizing internal and external resources as appropriate

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a manufacturing or FMCG environment
  • Previous experience in injury management and return to work
  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
  • Certificate IV Training & Assessment
  • Experience in working to deadlines and carrying out tasks diligently
  • Good communication and computer skills
  • The ability to work independently and consistently
  • Confidence to use initiative and make decisions where required
