Community Companion Volunteer

We're seeking a compassionate volunteer to provide companionship and support to an elderly lady living in her home. As a community companion, you'll have the opportunity to form meaningful connections with clients who are feeling lonely or isolated.

The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys spending time in the garden and sharing stories about plants and gardening. You'll visit the client at her home, engaging in conversation and participating in activities that bring joy and comfort to both parties.

This role offers a chance to make a positive impact on someone's life, while also enriching your own experience through regular visits and interactions. If you're passionate about building relationships and making a difference in your community, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Visit clients at their homes for one hour, once or twice a week
  • Engage in conversations and participate in activities that bring joy and comfort to the client
  • Form meaningful connections with clients and their families
  • Respect client confidentiality and adhere to all relevant policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • 18 years or older
  • Ability to pass a National Police Check and Working with Vulnerable People check

What to Expect:
