Medical Placement Opportunity in Public Health Ecuador

Gain valuable experience in public health and medicine by participating in our medical placement program in Ecuador.
About the ProgramOur medical placement program offers a unique opportunity to learn about traditional medicine, connect with local healers, and support ongoing public health projects. Interns will have the chance to gain hands-on experience in hospitals, health clinics, or public health organizations.
- Develop skills in healthcare delivery, community outreach, and project management
- Learn about cultural competency and adaptability in diverse healthcare settings
- Contribute to the development of public health initiatives, including hygiene and nutrition talks, interactive health games, and creating brochures and pamphlets with preventative health information
As part of your internship, you will live with a host family, allowing you to forge meaningful connections with locals during your time in the Amazon. A typical day may include:
- Breakfast with your host family
- Arrival at your internship site around 7:30/8am
- Return home for lunch break (or bring a packed lunch)
- Re-enter the workplace and finish up the day's activities
- Return home around 4/5pm for dinner with your family
