We are seeking a Mental Health Professional to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare services, you will play a vital role in promoting the mental wellbeing of individuals and families within the community.

Job Description:

The Mental Health Worker will be responsible for assessing the mental health needs of clients and their families, with a focus on delivering culturally sensitive and holistic programs and services that promote social and emotional wellbeing among Aboriginal people.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage with families, carers, and clients affected by mental health issues using a client-focused approach
  • Provide case management to support clients effectively
  • Deliver culturally sensitive and holistic programs and services to promote social and emotional wellbeing among Aboriginal people
  • Increase accessibility of mental health services within the local Aboriginal community
  • Empower the local Aboriginal community to take charge of their health and family wellbeing
  • Foster relationships with mainstream health providers to enhance mental health service delivery
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience working in the mental health sector and/or an appropriate formal qualification in the field of health/social or behavioural sciences
  • Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures with established local community connections
  • Experience in goal setting, connecting individuals and families with the right people, support services and opportunities to meet their needs
  • Ability to cultivate effective relationships with peers and clients
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Commitment to collaborative teamwork and the delivery of comprehensive community services
