Job Title: Mechanical Design Leader

Job Summary:

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will lead and manage the mechanical design office, supporting and mentoring a team of engineers and designers. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mechanical design for complex systems, demonstrated leadership or team management experience in an engineering environment, and strong proficiency in SolidWorks (or similar CAD tools) for 3D modeling and mechanical systems design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the mechanical design office to support the development of mechanical systems including actuator arms, gearboxes, and aircraft structural assemblies.
  • Oversee the integration of mechanical systems with electronics, avionics, and composite structures.
  • Drive design reviews, design documentation, and continuous improvement practices across the team.
  • Maintain a hands-on presence when needed—supporting prototyping, fault-finding, and system testing.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in mechanical design for complex systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership or team management experience in an engineering environment.
  • Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (or similar CAD tools) for 3D modeling and mechanical systems design.
  • Practical knowledge of prototyping, fabrication, and testing of mechanical systems.
