About the Central Package

The North East Link project is Victoria's biggest road project, and our team has been selected to deliver the Central Package. This is an iconic construction project that will close the missing link in Melbourne's freeway network from the M80 Ring Road to an upgraded Eastern Freeway.

Job Description

We are looking for a Civil Engineer with experience in Civils and Tunnelling to join our TBM team. The successful candidate will be based in Watsonia and will support the delivery of construction engineering outcomes covering backend works drainage, Pre-Cast Culvert, backfill and concrete in the Tunnel.

  • Coordinate and administer construction engineering activities to ensure that projects are implemented in accordance with plans, designs and specifications.
  • Write, review and present construction methods to relevant stakeholders that are in line with project requirements.
  • Develop construction methods and engineering concepts to safely and cost effectively deliver packages of work.
  • Monitor construction progress for adherence to programme and report to the Site Manager or Project Manager.
  • Interpret designs for implementation in construction projects.
  • Undertake quantitative and qualitative safety, environment and quality risk assessment to ensure acceptable quality of structures and finishes.

The role will also involve managing subcontractors and demonstrating sound people management skills to achieve desired outcomes.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Experience in Civil or Tunnel Operations.
  • High level verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven experience in successfully delivering large work packages.
  • Proven experience in managing site engineers on large-scale civil construction projects.
  • Ideal experience working for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 Contractor on a construction project.
  • Ability to effectively manage budgets, systems and stakeholders to achieve an exceptional outcome.
  • Excellent attitude and awareness of Safety.
  • Self-motivation and drive to achieve value-for-money results.
