
Senior Coastal Restoration Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated Blue Carbon Project Coordinator to assist in the delivery of our blue carbon program. The successful candidate will lead significant coastal wetland restoration and blue carbon projects, including project planning and execution, community engagement, project governance, and reporting activities.
About the Role:
- The Blue Carbon Project Coordinator will oversee all aspects of project coordination and delivery, including planning, procurement, permitting, implementation, and reporting.
- They will engage with community and partner organisations to accomplish project goals and outcomes.
- This role requires managing finances, negotiating and contracting with vendors, assisting with budget development, and fundraising.
- The Blue Carbon Project Coordinator will support the design, construction, management, and monitoring of large-scale coastal restoration projects.
- They will evaluate program compliance with internal policies and external requirements.
- Making independent decisions based on analysis, experience, and judgment is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning: Develop and implement project plans, ensuring timely completion and effective resource allocation.
- Community Engagement: Foster strong relationships with community groups, stakeholders, and partner organisations to achieve project goals.
- Financial Management: Manage project finances, including budgeting, vendor negotiation, and fundraising.
- Project Execution: Coordinate and oversee the implementation of project activities, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
- Reporting and Compliance: Produce regular project reports and ensure compliance with internal policies and external requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in natural resource management, aquaculture, coastal engineering, or a related field.
- At least 3 years' experience in project coordination, management, or a related field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing.
