Health and Safety Professional

We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team at Maas Group, a leading geotechnical company. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing health and safety systems and strategies that promote a positive safety culture.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement health and safety strategies to ensure compliance with legislative and client requirements.
- Lead the development of internal documentation and safety systems to achieve ISO accreditation.
- Conduct risk assessments, SWMS, hazard reporting, and proactive safety measures.
- Maintain health and safety reporting systems and engage with workers to facilitate a reporting culture.
- Conduct internal audits and site inspections, and prepare and submit reports to relevant parties.
- Collaborate with workers to improve hazard identification and risk management, and liaise with stakeholders to develop and review safety strategies.
- Assist with return-to-work coordination and conduct health, safety, and environmental performance monitoring.
- Relevant qualifications, such as a Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety.
- Strong understanding of Work Health and Safety Legislation and knowledge of acts, regulations, codes of practice, and standards.
- Operating knowledge and/or experience in health and safety, preferably in laboratories, geotechnical engineering, or drilling services.
- Experience in health and safety, preferably on project work.
- Intermediate computer literacy in Microsoft Office programs and systems.
- Well-organised professional with strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to be self-directed.
