Job Overview

As a Graduate Town Planner, you will play a key role in supporting development assessment and community engagement in a diverse Sydney community.

The successful candidate will provide planning and development information to the public, prepare assessment reports and determinations, conduct site inspections, and coordinate internal and external stakeholder feedback.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality planning and development services to the community.
  • Prepare and present assessment reports and determinations on development applications and subdivision certificates.
  • Conduct thorough site inspections and gather relevant data to inform decision-making.
  • Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Respond to enquiries from the public, including those made at the customer service counter, via email, or by phone.
  • Meet statutory and Council deadlines to deliver efficient development services.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning (or nearing completion).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering results.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation, planning processes, and customer service principles.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and professionally in a fast-paced environment.
  • Class C Driver's Licence.
