Job Title:

Senior Academic Leader in Surgery

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and accomplished academic leader to spearhead academic, research, and clinical activities in the discipline of surgery.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance teaching, research, and engagement within the discipline.
  • Cultivate high-quality surgical education, drive impactful research, and contribute to curriculum design and delivery.
  • Mentor staff and students, supervise Higher Degree Research (HDR) candidates, and participate in governance through active committee membership.
Key Requirements:
  • Medical qualification registrable in New South Wales, specialist training in a surgical discipline, and a fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons or equivalent.
  • A higher degree in a relevant discipline area is desirable, as is an outstanding research record, including significant external funding and publications in top-tier peer-reviewed journals.
  • A proven track record of leadership and achievement in a managerial role in a university or similar setting.
