As a Strategic Risk Management Director at Bank of Queensland, you will lead our Line 2 credit risk assurance function. This pivotal role involves overseeing credit hindsight and credit risk review processes, working closely with senior management and stakeholders to provide critical insights and recommendations on credit risk matters.

Your responsibilities will include conducting comprehensive portfolio and thematic reviews to assess credit quality and identify potential risks. You will also oversee individual file reviews, manage credit lessons learned, and provide recommendations and reporting.

Additionally, you will be responsible for managing the credit hindsight function, ensuring thorough reviews of individual findings and ongoing reviews of assurance frameworks and standards. Your reporting and analysis skills will shine as you prepare and present detailed reports on credit risk assurance outcomes and trends for senior management and the board.

You will work closely with business units to understand their credit risk assessment and management processes, providing guidance and constructive feedback. People leadership will also form a critical part of your role, where you will lead and coach a team of direct reports.

About you

We are seeking an individual with significant experience in credit risk management. Your proven track record in a senior risk management role within the banking sector showcases your strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

You possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with strong leadership and team management abilities. Your effective communication and interpersonal skills enable you to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to achieve common goals.
