Assistant Manager Functions

Delaware North Australia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Manager Functions to join our team at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. As an Assistant Manager of Functions, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service and ensuring an unparalleled guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and support the management of all function operations, including event day functions, briefings, and VIP events, ensuring seamless execution.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance guest experiences, identify revenue opportunities, and position MCG Events as a market leader.
  • Uphold and maintain the highest customer service standards, adhering to protocols and ensuring exceptional service levels at all times.
  • Participate in non-event day operations during peak times, supporting the Functions Manager and overall event success.
Requirements:
  • Proven leadership experience in a function or banquet environment.
  • Ability to mentor, train, and develop a team of hospitality professionals.
  • Enthusiasm for delivering outstanding service, adaptability in fast-paced environments, and a commitment to creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays, as event schedules dictate.
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate.
