As a Bicultural Worker, you will play a vital role in building the capacity of individuals from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.



Key Responsibilities:




  • \t
  • Provide support to culturally and linguistically diverse clients and build their capacity to engage in community and family life.
    \t
  • Act as a bilingual/bicultural support for the delivery of casework, case management, disability support and community development services.
    \t
  • Provide advice on the information needs of clients and present information to the community in a culturally sensitive manner.
    \t
  • Support clients to learn independence skills and assist Settlement staff to communicate effectively with members of the community.
    \t
  • Promptly respond to communication and follow the agreed job schedule for each booking.
    \t
  • Maintain client confidentiality at all times and attend support and supervision sessions.
    \t
  • Assist with orientation and transportation of clients as directed.
    \t
  • Ability to speak Arabic, Pashto, Dari, Farsi, Persian, Burmese, Karen, Karenni, Hazaragi, Swahili, Tamil, or Ukrainian.
    \t
  • Current Victorian Drivers Licence (or working towards).
