Job Title: Health, Safety & Wellbeing Manager

At the Workplace Injury Commission (WIC), we're seeking a highly skilled Health, Safety & Wellbeing Manager to join our People and Culture team. As a key member of our team, you'll provide expert advice and guidance to WIC leaders and employees on Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and employee wellbeing initiatives.

About the Role

This is a newly created role that requires a strong focus on psychosocial risk and mental health. You'll proactively coach, guide, and provide supportive advice that drives the application of quality health, safety & wellbeing initiatives and programs throughout WIC. Your expertise will ensure WIC maintains appropriate health and safety controls & continuous improvement initiatives that address physical risks, psychosocial risks, occupational violence risks, and biological risks in the workplace.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on OHS and employee wellbeing initiatives
  • Develop and implement health, safety & wellbeing programs and initiatives
  • Conduct workplace assessments, incident investigations, and risk assessments
  • Support the delivery of WIC's statutory Health Safety & Wellbeing obligations
  • Lead and manage a program focused on mental wellbeing and psychosocial risk management
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in a Health & Safety, Psychology, or related discipline
  • Proven knowledge and experience in mental health, vicarious trauma, and suicide prevention
  • Strong emotional intelligence and resilience
  • Experience in psychosocial risk management and the development of strategic and operational workplace mental health and wellbeing systems and programs
