About Us: Castlegate James Australasia is a leading provider of high-performance stockfeeds, protein meals, and customised rations for livestock production. We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join our team and drive the delivery of high-quality engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities:- Resource Acquisition: Coordinate the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver engineering solutions according to plan.
- Process Change Leadership: Provide leadership of specified project teams dealing with major plant changes.
- Preventative Maintenance: Manage the preventative breakdown maintenance program for all plants, equipment, fixtures, fittings, land, buildings, and tools.
- Reliability and Maintenance: Initiate and implement process and routines to continually improve the reliability and maintenance function on sites, while complying with WHS and GMP policies and standards.
- Site Performance: Liaise with other functions to identify key issues affecting site performance and develop solutions and execute actions to rectify these.
- Development and Planning: Liaise with local Shires and Government departments to obtain required development, planning, and building approvals, resource plans, and coordinate all internal and external resources assigned to the project delivery effort.
- Financial Management: Manage the R&M financials with the sites; forecasting budget and controlling cost expenditure.
- Maintenance Planning: Ensure maintenance activities are effectively and efficiently planned, managed, and delivered to meet business requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance operational performance and sustainability practices.
- Equipment Effectiveness: Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and reduce downtime.
- Issue Analysis: Analyse root causes of issues and implement solutions.
- Vendor Management: Coordinate with outside vendors, suppliers, and service providers to ensure we optimize our efficiencies throughout the business.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance needs.
- Spare Parts Management: Maintain with the Sites an inventory of necessary spare parts, tools, and equipment, ensuring timely procurement and availability.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records with the Sites of all maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance.
- Tertiary Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (process, mechanical, or other) and Project Management.
- Experience: Minimum years' experience in plant maintenance/process engineering positions within the feed milling or food manufacturing sector.
- Planning and Communication: The ability to develop short and long-range plans that are appropriately comprehensive, realistic, and effective in meeting goals and the ability to integrate planning across sites.
- Initiative and Leadership: Ability to drive initiatives and orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish goals.
- Communication: Capability to effectively communicate clearly and succinctly within a variety of communication settings achieving effective outcomes through working with people at all levels within production environment.
- Pressure and Independence: Ability to work under pressure situations and independently.
- Food Safety: Exposure to food safety principles including Feedsafe, HACCP, ISO, GMP.
- Tender Administration: Proven performance in the preparation and administration of tender/contract documentation.
- Attitude: A 'can-do' attitude is a must. You must be pro-active and show initiative.
