Job Title: Commercial Lease Portfolio Manager
About the RoleThe Infrastructure and Operations Division of Townsville City Council is seeking a highly skilled Commercial Lease Portfolio Manager to join their team. As a key member of the division, you will be responsible for maintaining a comprehensive database of council-owned and controlled leased buildings and facilities.
You will review tenure applications, coordinate assessments with stakeholders, advise on prospective tenures, and negotiate lease agreements. Your primary goal will be to ensure compliance by both parties and assess renewal of agreements while effectively managing arrears in rent.
This role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with key stakeholders, community groups, and professionals in the property management area. You must have a high level of competency in time management, organisational management, and ability to prioritise concurrent activities.
About YouTo be successful in this role, you will require:
- Tertiary qualifications in Property or Real Estate, or extensive experience in Commercial Leasing within the Real Estate industry.
- A strong understanding of leases and ability to interpret leases, licenses, and property documentation.
- A current 'C' class drivers' license.
You will also need:
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to prepare correspondence and documentation to a high standard.
- Knowledge of building compliance and leasing legalities associated with relevant Queensland legislation.
- Demonstrated level of property management skills including preliminary investigations, interpreting drawings and plans, financial management, and reconciliation.

The estimated salary range for this position is between $80,000 and $120,000 per annum, depending on experience.
