In Australia, our team comprises over 180 engineers and skilled technicians specializing in quality-controlled inspection, risk-based assessment testing, condition monitoring, and asset management for various plant and equipment.
While we operate nationally, the Bureau Veritas Materials Science & Engineering (MSE) Group is headquartered in Newcastle, featuring a dedicated team of Metallurgists, Materials Scientists, and Engineers. They provide expert analysis on the conditions and causes of industrial plant and equipment failures.
Role Overview:
This position, based in either the Newcastle office or our newly established Wollongong facility, presents an exciting opportunity for a senior materials engineer to establish a prominent engineering and support services presence in the region. You will collaborate closely with key clients along the East Coast, spanning the mining and transport sectors, as well as OEMs, manufacturers, and fabricators.
Throughout this journey, you will be supported by a highly experienced team that has developed into a leading consultancy and preferred supplier to the industry.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Tertiary qualifications in metallurgy, materials engineering, or materials science.
- A minimum of 7 years of industry experience.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Effective communication abilities at all levels.
- Focus on processes and procedures.
- Proficient in report writing.
Experience Required:
- Conducting metallurgical testing and root cause failure analysis.
- Experience primarily from the mining sector, with consideration for those from manufacturing, power, and transport industries.
- Demonstrated customer service skills and strong interpersonal relationships.
