About the Role

The Bloomfield Group is seeking a highly skilled Warehouse Officer to join our team at our Rix's Creek Mine. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the coordination of activities related to the receipt and distribution of materials in the stores, ensuring efficient support and service to the operations team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receiving and processing all goods delivered to the site directly
  • Packaging and dispatching of goods going off site
  • Conducting regular and efficient stocktaking, including cyclic counts of inventory items in all warehouse locations
  • Coordination of loading and unloading of trucks, using forklift and other materials handling equipment
  • Safely storing all inventory and non-inventory items in allocated locations in a timely manner
  • Liaising with suppliers, delivery personnel, requisitioners and purchasing officers for activities associated with receiving and dispatching of goods
  • Mentoring other team members in warehouse operations
  • Liaising with Transport Coordinator on all transport matters
Essential Criteria
  • Certificate IV in Warehouse Operations (or willingness to obtain within first 24 months of employment)
  • Experience in warehouse management and inventory control in mining or industrial environment
  • Strong organisational planning and operational skills with ability to communicate and influence others
  • Experience in setting up warehouse
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • A team-oriented approach to achievement of tasks
  • Good communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Accuracy and eye for detail
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Computer literacy with preference in business ERP package (Pulse experience highly regarded)
  • Sound working knowledge of industry, equipment and parts

The Bloomfield Group operates two open-cut coal mines in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales. These operations are our Rix's Creek Mine northwest of Singleton, and our Bloomfield Mine east of Maitland. Coal from the Rix's Creek Mine and Bloomfield Mine is railed to the Port of Newcastle, and loaded onto ships using Port Waratah Coal Services (PWCS).
