Pharmacy Technician

A rewarding opportunity exists for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Pharmacy Technician. This is a full-time Monday to Friday role where you will be supervised by a qualified pharmacist as you prepare medications and process prescriptions for our valued patients and customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Medication Preparation: Assist the Pharmacist with the dispensing of medication, ensuring accurate and timely preparation and delivery to our patients.
  • PBS Compliance: Remain up-to-date with PBS legislative requirements impacting the pharmacy/dispensary, ensuring adherence to all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Patient Care: Strive to provide specialised patient care to our valued patients and customers, demonstrating empathy and understanding in all interactions.
  • Aseptic Compounding: Assist with aseptic compounding for pharmacists, adhering to strict quality control measures and protocols.
  • Inventory Management: Conduct inventory management tasks, including ordering, receiving, and storing medications and supplies.
  • Laboratory Maintenance: Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies, ensuring cleanliness and organisation at all times.
  • Administrative Duties: Assist with administrative and record-keeping duties, including claims processing and data entry.
Requirements:
  • Certificate II in Community Pharmacy: Possession of Certificate II in Community Pharmacy or equivalent qualification is essential.
  • Experience and Qualifications: Previous experience in dispensing medications, ideally within a hospital or community pharmacy setting, is desirable. S2/S3 qualifications are considered an asset.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required to effectively interact with patients, staff, and healthcare professionals.
