Job Overview

A technical project manager is responsible for leading the delivery of backend capabilities and APIs that cater to both internal teams and enterprise customers.

Main Responsibilities
  • Delivery Leadership: Oversee the end-to-end delivery of backend capabilities and APIs.
  • Technical Partnership: Collaborate with engineering and architecture to make thoughtful technical decisions and co-create API specs, define service level agreements.
  • Work Planning and Prioritization: Translate high-level goals into clear milestones to help teams focus and move forward together.
  • System Health Champion: Embed scalability, usability, and maintainability from day one, not as an afterthought.
  • Inter-Team Coordination: Work across disciplines to unblock delivery, manage dependencies, and maintain momentum.
  • Clean API Advocacy: Promote intuitive integration patterns, clear versioning, and strong monitoring practices.
  • Delivery Discipline: Introduce simple, repeatable ways of working that enable backend teams to deliver reliably and efficiently.
Requirements
  • Commercial experience in a technical delivery role in a software as a service or platform company.
  • Proven track record managing complex delivery programs involving backend systems and APIs.
  • Ability to engage with engineers, understand system interactions, and communicate trade-offs effectively.
  • Experience working on custom solutions or client-specific workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Clear communicator with strong stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Ability to clarify ambiguity, simplify complexity, and unblock teams with confidence.
Bonus Experience
  • Familiarity with how enterprise clients consume APIs or integrate at scale.
  • Experience writing or contributing to technical statements of work or product requirements.
  • Understanding of authentication flows, data management, or large-scale architecture decisions in an integration context.
