Backend Infrastructure Specialist

We seek an experienced Backend Infrastructure Specialist to join our team. As a key member, you will play a vital role in the design and development of our backend infrastructure.


About the Role

As a seasoned Backend Infrastructure Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to provide technical guidance and support throughout the team for our backend systems. You will also assist other team members in implementing product features that involve the database, API, or other backend systems.

  • Provide expertise on backend system architecture and design
  • Collaborate with the Product & Engineering team to develop and maintain the backend infrastructure used throughout our platform
  • Research and recommend technologies for our backend infrastructure

Key Responsibilities

As the Backend Infrastructure Specialist, you will lead the design and development of payroll/expense tracking features, leave management features, insights, and analytics features. Additionally, you will oversee backend services such as Supabase, Vercel, Axiom, Inngest, and Postmark.


Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • Extensive experience working on web applications
  • Proficiency with Postgres, Node.js, and TypeScript
  • Willingness to take on end-to-end design and development responsibilities
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, particularly for remote teams
  • Ability to work independently
  • Experience with GraphQL, Python, data analytics/science expertise
