Sustainability and Environment Advisor Role Overview:
- This pivotal role is within our Safety and Sustainability team, where you will shape and deliver our Group Sustainability Plan.
- Support cross-functional initiatives to make a real impact on environmental performance and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement the Group Environment and Sustainability Strategy with our Principal Sustainability and Environment Specialist.
- Identify, control, and manage environmental risks (aspects and impacts) in our register.
- Administer external and internal environment and sustainability reporting requirements.
- Coordinate safety and sustainability events in our database.
- Contribute to regulatory reporting and monitor environmental compliance.
- Collaborate with business units to support sustainability initiatives.
- Develop procedures and environmental documentation.
- Support audits, compliance registers, and system improvements.
- Align environmental training with SHEQMS requirements.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in sustainability or environmental roles within heavy industry or mining.
- Strong understanding of ISO management systems.
- Working knowledge of NGERs and NPI reporting requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in compliance auditing, data analysis, and report writing.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Geography, or Environmental Engineering (mandatory).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to interpret environmental legislation and apply it practically across diverse sites.
- Passion for sustainable practices and continual improvement.
