Menu Monitoring Role

The role of a Menu Monitor is to ensure that patient meals are prepared and presented according to hospital standards. This involves monitoring the menu planning process, ensuring that all patients have access to nutritionally balanced meals, and addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.

This is a key role in supporting the dietary services team and contributing to the overall well-being of our patients. As a Menu Monitor, you will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring the menu planning process to ensure that all patients receive suitable meal options;
  • Ensuring that all meals are prepared and presented according to hospital standards;
  • Addressing any concerns or issues raised by patients or staff regarding meal provision;
  • Working collaboratively with other departments, such as nursing and environmental services, to support the delivery of patient care.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You should also be able to work flexibly and adapt to changing circumstances.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a food service environment, preferably in a healthcare setting. You will need to be able to demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and a passion for working with others to achieve common goals.

  • Working with others usually involves some give and take. Can applicants describe a time when they worked out an agreement with a peer or team member?;
  • What does patient-centred care mean to them? Can they give an example of when they have demonstrated patient-centred care?;
