We are seeking an experienced Principal Scientist/Team Leader to join our contaminated sites team in Perth, Australia. This is an exciting opportunity to grow and develop your career while working with a great team of environmental engineers, scientists, geologists, hydrologists, and hydrogeologists.
As a Principal Scientist/Team Leader Contaminated Sites Consultant, you will:
- Manage field investigation programs and review laboratory data to inform remedial and/or management requirements.
- Prepare technical reports for contamination and acid sulfate soils.
- Assist in HazMat surveys and clearance inspections and develop HazMat Management Plans.
- Develop human health and ecological risk assessments.
- Conceive, design, and manage large projects.
- Evaluate and analyze field and technical data.
- Present independent studies, analysis, interpretations, conclusions, and decisions.
- Coordinate work programs and project resources.
- Liaise with clients and regulators.
- Mentor and coach junior scientists.
The successful candidate will be tertiary qualified in Environmental/Earth Science, Chemistry, Geology, or a related field with:
- 10+ years' experience in contaminated sites/remediation.
- Experience in the assessment and remediation of contaminated sites in Australia and a sound working knowledge of NEPM 2013, HEPA 2020, DWER 2021, and DoH 2021 guidance.
- Experience of acid sulfate soils.
- Experience in HazMat audit and removals supervision.
- Excellent report and proposal writing skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
