Sports Vaping Prevention Officer

This position is available to support our Good Sports initiative in preventing vaping harms among young people.
Job OverviewWe are seeking a project officer who can engage with sporting clubs across QLD to promote healthy choices and provide resources for those affected by vaping.
Main Responsibilities- Deliver workshops on vaping prevention at club level;
- Train coaches to have conversations with young players about the risks associated with vaping;
- Conduct information sessions for young players and parents on the consequences of vaping.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field or experience in community development;
- Awareness of alcohol and other drug issues, including harm reduction and minimisation approaches;
- Understanding of community development principles and ability to apply them effectively;
- Confidence in engaging with sporting club committees and volunteers;
- Demonstrated experience in facilitating health promotion programs.
The successful applicant will be required to travel within QLD, hold a current driver's license, and be flexible to deliver workshops outside regular working hours as needed. A valid Working with Children check is mandatory.
