Project Manager Role Overview

This senior position is responsible for facilitating the Project Management Office (PMO) Centre of Excellence and Portfolio Management functions. The role includes promoting a culture of transparency and continuous improvement, training and educating staff across all levels in best practices, and enabling effective prioritization, governance, and resource allocation to meet strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To provide tailored guidance, advice, and training to staff and executives in the implementation and use of project and portfolio management frameworks, processes, and systems.
  • Strong program and project management abilities to develop, maintain, and continuously improve Council's project and portfolio management frameworks, processes, and systems.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills to create consensus, resolve disputes, and broker agreement to proposals and ideas.
  • Exceptional organizational skills to effectively develop and administer training and mentoring programs.
  • Excellent communication and change management skills to engage colleagues and management in adoption of Council's project and portfolio management frameworks, processes, and systems.
