About the Role

The Careers Practitioner - Classroom Teacher is a key position in supporting students to explore career options and make informed decisions about their future.

This role will collaborate with the Senior School team to provide high-quality careers guidance and support students in making informed decisions about their pathway after Year 12.

Applicants must have strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with students, parents and staff. They must also have a passion for careers education and be able to develop and implement effective programs to engage students in career development.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide careers guidance and support to students and families at the educational institution.
  • Develop and implement whole school and cohort initiatives to promote career development.
  • Manage the resources of the program.
  • Develop and maintain a library of current and up-to-date resources in relation to careers information.
Selection Criteria
  1. Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills.
  2. Experience in responding to student learning needs.
  3. Ability to plan for and implement high-impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn, and evaluate the impact of learning and teaching programs on student learning growth.
