Opportunity in Nursing and Midwifery Leadership
Deakin University seeks a highly accomplished professional to lead teaching, research, and academic activities in nursing and midwifery. This fixed-term position covers a vacancy arising from a long-term internal secondment.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in nursing and midwifery, with experience in teaching, leadership, and research. They will be responsible for leading teaching teams to design and develop courses and materials that influence teaching across multiple disciplines, providing an excellent learning experience for students.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading teaching teams to develop innovative curriculum designs that inform unit/course development across disciplines.
- Reviewing and refining units and courses across disciplines within the university.
- Integrating industry, clinical, and/or research practices to inform unit/course design across disciplines.
- Supporting the development and promotion of the university's research collaboration and industry partnership agenda.
- Recruiting and supervising HDR students with timely completions and productive outcomes.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful, you'll have:
- Registration with the relevant board as a registered nurse.
- A doctoral degree in a relevant field.
- Distinguished scholarly learning and teaching in undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including innovative curriculum design.
- Internationally recognised research reputation underpinned by publications in high-quality journals.
- Demonstrated success and passion for leadership of teaching, research, and/or administration.
