Market Risk Senior Group Manager Role Summary

Overview

The Market Risk Senior Group Manager plays a vital role in managing multiple teams, overseeing risk-taking activities, and assessing risks independently. This senior leadership position requires in-depth knowledge of financial instruments, risk metrics, and market risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple teams through other managers, ensuring effective risk management and oversight.
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate market risks, working closely with traders and trading management.
  • Monitor and analyze the organization's market risk exposure, identifying potential losses due to market movements.
  • Approve transactions over established limits, maintaining a thorough understanding of treasury, market risk, and liquidity management.
  • Collaborate with Citi business/functional line management, risk, and finance groups to ensure cohesive risk management practices.

Requirements

  • 15+ years relevant experience in financial risk management, including expertise in financial instruments and risk metrics.
  • Subject matter expert in market risk management, with excellent analytical, technical, and quantitative skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior leaders and team members.
  • Highly motivated, organized, and adaptable, with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Ability to influence and lead people across cultures at a senior level, using sound judgment and successful execution.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Structured Query Language (SQL).
  • Programming/modeling experience, with a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Financial Risk Management (FRM) certification.
